The Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames has been awarded the Mayor of London’s Cultural Impact Award and will deliver a programme of music events, music industry conferences, a new talent development programme and public workshops, with focused activities in June and November 2019 as well as across the year.
The Mayor of London Cultural Impact Award is part of the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture award. The Mayor’s London Borough of Culture award brings Londoners together. Putting culture at the heart of local communities, where it belongs. Shining a light on the character and diversity of London’s boroughs and showing culture is for everyone. Now more than ever, the Mayor wants Londoners to get to know each other and feel part of our great city. Thanks to this new award, all Londoners will now have the chance to be part of something extraordinary.
A multi-venue, live music programme featuring a cross – genre mix of new talent and established acts.
Industry networking sessions and music conferences, featuring keynotes and speakers from all areas of the industry, to inspire those starting out in music and music lovers.
A New Talent Development programme for emerging and mid-career musicians. The programme gives new talent the opportunity to secure a CirKT performance platform at CirKT, selected by a panel of trusted music industry insiders, with winning acts performing as part of CirKT live music programme.
As part of the CirKT New Talent Development programme, up to five winning acts will be awarded a £500 bursary and provided with access to a package of free support, including professional training, guidance and mentoring.
